19. The Means of Salvation
A detailed narration from Aisha states that the Prophet of Islam (SAW) said: “Whoever is tested with daughters and treats them well, they will serve as a shield for him from the fire.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No. 2629)
Sometimes, for various reasons, a daughter may be seen as a burden rather than an asset by her parents. However, according to Islamic teachings, a daughter can be a vital source of reward for her parents in the Hereafter.
This responsibility is not always easy. It is, in fact, a way of finding ease amid hardship. If parents provide their daughters with proper guidance and upbringing, preparing them to shoulder life’s responsibilities, daughters can become a true blessing for their families. Through them, a positive mindset can develop within the family, creating a constructive and harmonious atmosphere. The daughter can grow to be a healthy, productive member of the family, contributing meaningfully to its growth and success.
Although this effort is initially motivated by the desire for reward in the Hereafter, it also brings significant benefits in this world. It positively impacts the family in every way, both spiritually and practically.
