THE CASE OF FAILURE
The power of peace surpasses that of violence. Peace is also the path of wise people, while violence is the way of the unwise. When someone turns to violence, it shows they have failed to use a more effective method to reach their goal. It also reveals that the person has acted foolishly in trying to solve their problem instead of acting wisely. Peace and violence are not just two different approaches—they represent two different levels of humanity. A person who chooses peace elevates their sense of humanity, while a person who chooses violence diminishes themselves from that higher human standard. When someone faces a problem and chooses peace, they develop a positive mindset. They raise their moral standards. They elevate their character. They demonstrate through their actions what it truly means to be human. Conversely, when someone opts for violence to solve a problem, they lower themselves to a less human level, making their claim to humanity seem doubtful in practice.
Peace and violence both reveal a person’s true nature. One path shows that a person is genuinely human. The other indicates that, even if they appeared human on the outside, they were actually acting like an animal.
