In this world, a person stands between two things. He either takes the 'food' of arrogance, egoism and pride. The other option is to take the 'food' of modesty. Those who develop an arrogant personality will be punished. Those who develop a modest personality will find a place in Paradise. The Quran says: وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ هَوْنًا (25:63) The true servants of the Gracious One are those who walk upon the earth with humility.

How does one develop modesty? Modesty doesn’t come on its own. You need an ideology of modesty. While walking on the ground you may think you're a healthy person: My health has made me capable of walking. Instead you should think how you're being able to walk on earth. If the earth had no gravitational pull, how would you walk? You would fly away in space. Without atmospheric pressure from above, you would fly around like a peace of paper in the air! God has made grand arrangements. There is gravitational pull in the earth and atmospheric pressure from above. Sunlight acts like a universal touch which lightens up your way. There are innumerable arrangements: you're continuously receiving oxygen. Free supply of oxygen is continues 24 hours in a day! There are numerous other provisions.

I once read that insects also have a great function. They put an end to pollution. They feed on human pollution and waste. If these insects ceased to exist for 2 months, humans too wouldn't survive. Pollution levels in the world will increase so greatly that we won't survive. Insects have a great role to play. Water, air, sun, moon, the earth and the sky -- there are so many bounties! When you walk on the ground, you will know there is grand support system in nature. You're being able to walk because of it. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to walk at all. Throughout the history of civilization, extensive research helped in construction of roads, motorcars, electric light bulbs, etc. To walk with modesty in this world, you need an ideology of modesty. If you simply ask people to be modest, they won't become modest.
