There is a hadith that says you should look at those who have less than you. This will make you grateful. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2513)
If you look at those who have more than you, you will have complaints. There will always be disparity in society. The Quran says that God does not grant every person equally. There will be differences between people. (43:32) This difference exists in nature and will remain so. Some will have less and others more. This too is of a temporary kind. Some may get more in the future. Some may have less in the future if they have more in the present. This will go on.
The hadith tells us to look at those who have less than us. This will make us grateful. Don’t look at those who are above you, otherwise you will be ungrateful. Then you will cease to acknowledge God.
The question is, Those who have less are regretful when they see those who have more. What is the solution for this in Islam? There is a hadith on this matter which says that you should see those who have less than you. This will make you grateful. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2513)
