No individual has been told when he will die, not even the Prophet. Nobody, no king, doctor or prophet, has been told when he or she will die. What does this mean? This means that every person must live with a sense of urgency. It could be that my countdown may get over today itself. It could be that my countdown may get over tomorrow. When the truth is that every person's countdown is ticking and no one knows when it would be over, every moment one must live with a sense of urgency.
When a person is born, his countdown begins at the same time. Some live for 70 years, others for 60 or 80 years. Today I read in the newspaper about a woman who lived for 120 years. Her countdown was spread out to 120 years. But she too died. Death was written for her too. Her countdown got over in 120 years. The countdown for some is less than that, and for others it is more. This is indeed very dreadful. Every day, a day gets reduced from your age. Your age is not increasing. Your age is not increasing, rather the countdown to your age is decreasing. You may say you are 20 years old or 80 years old. But what is the reality?
The reality is that the time on earth which the Creator has decided for you is continuously decreasing everyday. The countdown for every person is decreasing. What will a person go through when he thinks along these lines? No individual has been told when he will die, not even the Prophet. Nobody, no king, doctor or prophet, has been told when he or she will die. What does this mean? This means that every person must live with a sense of urgency. It could be that my countdown may get over today itself. It could be that my countdown may get over tomorrow. When the truth is that every person's countdown is ticking and no one knows when it would be over, every moment one must live with a sense of urgency.
