God has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for the Garden. You are someone who has been bought. You don’t belong to yourself. You belong to God. You don’t have a choice in the kind of food you eat. You must eat simple food so that your throat doesn’t go sore, you remain healthy, you don’t gain weight, so that you are able to do God's work.
Last night I received a call from a person attached to our mission. I found his voice a bit different. I asked: Why does your voice seem slightly changed? He said that he had throat infection and was taking antibiotics. I understood the whole story. Since childhood he has been fond of tasty food. I realized that having tasty food had caused him a sore throat. I said the medicine you need is not with the doctor, rather that medicine is with you. You need to change yourself. You must decide to stop having so-called tasty food. You shouldn’t take tasty food. I told him that my real brother lives in Aligarh. He once sent me gift, a big box full of ghee and dessert made of carrot and nuts. I didn’t have even a small amount of it to taste the delicious food he had sent. (9:111) God has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth in return for the Garden. You are someone who has been bought. You don’t belong to yourself. You belong to God. You don’t have a choice in the kind of food you eat. You must eat simple food so that your throat doesn’t go sore, you remain healthy, you don’t gain weight, so that you are able to do God's work. You, me and whoever says, I am a believer, then God has bought that person. This person has to do what God wants. You have no choice of your own.
