In Paradise, You Will Have Total Fulfilment

A human being is indeed a unique creature. To derive pleasure from something, some more requirements are needed. If these requirements are not fulfilled, you cannot derive pleasure form anything. Every pleasure is incomplete unless certain other requirements are not fulfilled as well. This is a strange characteristic of humans. You cannot find complete happiness in just one thing. You need many more things. If you have everything, only then you are happy. Moreover, to remain happy you must not get tired, fall sick or meet with an accident. All this is not possible in this world. I really loved the sight I witnessed on the shores of the Bosporus, but after a few days I became bored. Because I needed other things which were not available there. No person gets everything that he wants. In Paradise, you will have everything available for yourself. All factors to keep you happy, joyous and fulfilled will be present. In Paradise, there will be fulfilment for all your senses in the complete sense.

We need to reflect on two verses. The verse about this world says: وَآتَاكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ (14.34) The verse about the Hereafter says: وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنْفُسُكُمْ (41.31) In this world, your needs will be fulfilled. In the Hereafter, you shall have all that your souls desire. In this world, we have only that which fulfils our needs. All our desires will not be fulfilled here. That is impossible. In this world, it is not possible to fulfil every desire that you have. About this world, it is said: وَآتَاكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُ, and about the Hereafter: وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنْفُسُكُمْ . We have given you everything that will fulfil your needs in this world. You will have oxygen, water, food and so on.

But fulfilment of all pleasures and total happiness will be possible only in Paradise. A place where all your desires get fulfilled in an unlimited way will indeed be unique. In Paradise, you will find fulfilment for all your desires, aspirations and fine feelings. I had recently gone to Turkey. The hotel in which I stayed was on the coast of the Bosporus. Bosporus is a strait, a narrow passage connecting the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The suite in which I stayed at the hotel had a huge glass window overlooking the Bosporus Strait. It was a very beautiful sight. On the waters of the sea, I could see birds flying through the clouds, the sun was shining brightly and the trees were tall and green. It was a breathtaking sight! After four days of enjoying this scenery, I became bored. I felt I needed something more.
