The Quran says: وَعَلَى اللَّهِ قَصْدُ السَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَائِرٌ. (16:9) There is no third basis apart from these two. Arguments on other bases are false. Which is the straight path? This is the God-oriented path. You think about the teachings laid down by God, the creation plan of God and the guidance given by God through His Prophet. When you follow this, you walk on the straight path. If you move away, you walk on the path of Satan. Then you will have failure in this world and the world Hereafter.
The Quran tells us that there are two basis for sound reasoning. There are two basis of sound reasoning. False reasoning doesn't have these two basis. What are these? Revealed knowledge and experimental knowledge. (46:4) For example, if you place your hand on fire, it will get burnt. This is experimental knowledge. Through an experiment, you came to know that fire can burn you. If you say fire burns, this would be sound reasoning. Because this is based on experiment. But if you say fire is superior and clay is inferior, then there is no logic for this statement.
The Quran tells us that there are two basis for sound reasoning: first is revealed knowledge based on revelation and the other is experimental knowledge. There is no third basis apart from these two. Arguments on other bases are false. This establishes that those who adopt sound logic are on the straight path. Those who go by false logic, will be walking toward Hell.
