The Vision of Islam

The Vision of Islam offers an explanation of the teachings of Islam in a contemporary style and aims at providing such an interpretation of Islam as will address the modern mind. Maulana Wahiduddin Khan wrote the Urdu edition of this book, Al-Islam in September 1975. At that time he felt that with this book his mission had come to an end. Subsequently, there was a change of circumstances and by special divine succour a full-fledged mission came to be launched on the basis of the ideology he had presented in his book Al-Islam.

Tazkiyah Purification of the Soul

In Tazkiyah—Purification of the Soul Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that the Quran mentions four responsibilities of the Prophet, one being the purification of the self. (2:129). As such it is essential for believers to give first priority to the purification of the self in their lives. Similarly, it is necessary for the da‘i and the reformer to attach great importance to the process of purification.

The Dawn Over Kashmir

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan explains that it is an incontrovertible fact that a new age has set in in Kashmir and could rightly be described as the ‘Dawn over Kashmir’. This development in Kashmir is not attributable to any external cause, but is rather the result of fresh thinking on the part of the Kashmiri people themselves. In the book, the author analyzes that events testify to a new journey having begun in the history of Kashmir. And this constructive journey will certainly continue until it reaches its ultimate destination.
