THE month of Ramadan is the month when the Quran was sent down as guidance for humankind with clear proofs of guidance and the criterion by which to distinguish right from wrong. (2: 185)

The purpose of the Quran is to make man aware of this reality, thus serving to guide human beings on their entire journey through life into the after-life.
The Quran exhorts its readers thus:
Do they not ponder over the Quran? (4: 82)
