When you reflect and ponder over the happenings in the world, on nature and the universe, you think about heaven and earth, you discover after a long process that God exists. When you make such a discovery, it is no ordinary matter. A super storm arises within you. It is indeed a super storm. A manifestation of this super storm is when you exclaim: O God, forgive me. You are my Lord! O God, I believe in You. O God, I acknowledge Your greatness. O God, I believe in Your existence.
How do you develop sincere thankfulness? Behind sincere thankfulness is a discovery, study, taking lessons from things, looking at matters deeply and having objective thinking. When you have all these qualities, a spirit emerges within you that makes you exclaim: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (1:2) It is not about reading something in a book, memorizing it and repeating it from time to time. الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ is not about repeating memorized words. When a storm emerges within you, the words الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ is a demonstration of that inner storm. These words mean: All greatness belongs to God Almighty. He alone is God.
