A Prophet's help said that: The Prophet never scolded me nor hit me. (Musnad Ahmad 13036) This is also a sunnah. These days people have servants at home who work for them. People easily scold them and hit them. This goes against the sunnah. Those who follow the sunnah in matters such as walking on the right should also not scold their servant, they shouldn’t hold the servant in ridicule. Scolding means to despise a person.
Hazrat Ayesha said that the Prophet never became angry over a personal matter. (Sahih al-Bukhari 3560) It is a sunnah to not get angry over a personal matter. What does it mean to not get angry over a personal matter? If someone abuses me, throws a stone at me or harms me, these are examples of personal kind.
Generally, people get angry over such issues. People become very angry when they are made targets of personal attack. Becoming angry over such issues wasn’t the Prophet's sunnah. We need to adopt this sunnah. It was the Prophet's way to not get angry over personal attacks.

People think that they pay their servant every month and so they can behave in any way with him. This is a wrong way of thinking. Ridiculing a person goes against the sunnah. The Prophet considered every person equal. He never ridiculed anyone. You must adopt this sunnah. You should never ridicule or despise anyone. Hazrat Ayesha says that the Prophet never took revenge in personal matters. (Sahih al-Bukhari 3560)
When do you take revenge? When you develop complaints against someone. When you nurse complaints, you become enraged and seek to teach the other person a lesson. This goes against the sunnah. It is also a great sunnah to forget complaints against people. To harbour malice for someone, seek revenge and plan to teach him a lesson are all wrong. All this is not part of Islam. This wasn’t the Prophet's sunnah. All these are not part of sunnah. People speak about sunnah in trivial matters, while they remain forgetful of the greater sunnah.
