If you want to bring about a revolution in society, or any great change, what should you do? You can't do that by forcing people to do something. The reason is that humans are controlled by their mind. If you want to change society, you have to change minds. Here is the starting point. If you want to bring about change in society, you have to change minds. Change begins with the mind. How will minds change? It is through peaceful dialogue and peaceful education. Dialogue, education and interaction are all peaceful activities. If you want to change individuals, you still have to adopt the peaceful method. When you address the individual's mind, only then it will undergo change. Why will it change otherwise? If you want to bring about change in society, again you have to follow the peaceful method. Otherwise, there will be no development. If you want to bring about change in the political system, you will have to adopt the peaceful method. Otherwise, there will be clashes, bloodshed and anarchy.  If you want to change individuals, you will have to adopt the peaceful method. If you want to change the society, you have to adopt the peaceful method. If you want to change the political system, you will have to adopt the peaceful method. Otherwise, you will not achieve anything.

Only if you maintain social harmony, all these activities are possible. If there is social harmony, only then there will be peaceful activities. This is why, peace and harmony are essential for all, including Islam. The change that Islam aims to bring, the education it desires, are all possible when there is social harmony. If there is no harmony in society, Islam's educational activism will never be successful. Islamic activism is educational activism. Educational activism requires peace and harmony.
