The Quran and Hadith have told us about everything. To take lessons from the Quran and Hadith, sincerity is essential. The Quran says: ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِلْمُتَّقِينَ (2.2) This is the Book; there is no doubt in it. It is a guide for those who are mindful of God. Who are people with taqwa? They are seekers. They are sincere. They seriously want to know the truth. They have real capacity to know the truth. They will understand matters. To understand the Quran and Hadith, it is essential to be a seeker. The Quran says about the Prophet: وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَى (93.7) We found you searching for the truth, and gave you guidance. We found you a seeker and so We made you a finder. The stage before finding is seeking. This statement about the Prophet is true about every human being. First you have to be a seeker. Then you get to finding. First you have to be sincere in the search for truth. Only then you find the truth.
