You have to pay the price. People want to have it without paying the price. No one is ready to pay the price. Either you should not desire it, or, if you do desire it, you must pay its price. The greatest reason is distraction. Everyone lives in distraction. Some are distracted by their family, some in shopping and others by the TV. Every moment we live in distractions. Distraction is the greatest reason. If you want to build a strong personality, you have to do this. A person came to me, heard me for a while and began to leave. I asked him why he was leaving. He replied his family had come and he had to be with them for lunch.
Is this really a reason? We should ignore the distractions of family. Why didn’t you say: Have lunch, and I will come later. People live in distractions. They carry mobiles every moment. The mobile is a source of distraction, and so is family, TV, shopping and eating. No one is ready to adopt simplicity. Simple food, simple furniture, simple home, simple dress -- no one is ready for this. Either pay the price or stop talking about it. According to my experience, distraction is the greatest killer. You must think day and night about your distractions. A distraction is something that changes your focus. People's focus keeps changing to this or that. If you have to go to Faridabad and you keep getting derailed here and there, then you will never reach even till the evening. When you get distracted, you derail yourself. You lose time and energy, and don’t even achieve your purpose.
