The Quran says: Good and evil deeds are not equal. Repel evil with what is better; then you will see that one who was once your enemy has become your dearest friend. (41.34) If someone is really your enemy, he can never be your friend. That can never happen. A person can never change his or her nature. The truth is that in reality, no one is your enemy. Enmity is superficial. If you behave well, the superficial veil of enmity will be gone and the real human will come to the fore. The real human being is never an enemy. All human beings are the children of Adam and Eve. All humans are blood brothers and blood sisters. This is the Quranic belief. Scientific studies have also established that all humans have arisen from same ancestors. If all humans are blood sisters and blood brothers, then no one can be a real enemy to anybody else. That goes against human nature. People are generally pro-self. We wrongly take this pro-self tendency to be anti-us. No person is anti-others. Every individual is pro-self. People's attitude of indifference toward others is taken as enmity toward others. But this is not due to enmity. It is believed that America is against immigrants. I say American policy is pro-America, not anti-immigrant. This is why, the Quran says don’t consider another person as your enemy. If you behave well, the inner human being will reveal himself to you. The inner human being believes all human beings are blood brothers and blood sisters.
