Every person is accompanied by Satan, who tries to whisper and mislead them. The role of Satan is to activate the ego, whereas angels work to activate the conscience. It depends on how a person has prepared themselves. If you've preserved your conscience, angels will activate you, protecting you from Satan's influence.
Maulana, when someone points out our mistakes, we often feel a sense of egoism. Why does this happen? We always have Satan with us. However, if you haven't preserved your conscience, your ego will remain alive, and you will come under the influence of Satan. I believe it is about preparing oneself. The Quran says, “Those who are with him are firm and unyielding towards those who deny the truth.” (أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ) (48:29). It means to become unyielding against evil and not to be influenced by it. This happens when you save yourself, that is, you keep your conscience alive. By doing so, Satan's adornments or whispers cannot influence you. But if you do not keep your conscience alive, your ego will take over, and you will immediately come under the influence of Satan. This is what is found in the Quran and Hadith, and it's also my personal experience.
