The Prophet Muhammad once gave this advice for married life:

"A believing man should not be displeased with a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her qualities, there will be another quality in her with which he will be pleased."

It is a fact that no person, male or female, has every good quality. This is how nature is: you may have some qualities, but you may lack some other qualities. But it is a very common for us to focus more on the negative qualities in others. We ignore their positive qualities.

This is a wrong way of thinking, as it ruins our relationships. If we focus on the positive qualities in others and ignore their negative qualities, our relations with them would become harmonious. If this principle is applied to married life, every husband would think of his wife as the best life-partner, and every wife would think of her husband as the best life-partner.

God has not made any man or woman inferior. It is our own wrong thinking that we consider somebody inferior and somebody else superior.

If men and women realize this, they will be filled with thankfulness for what God has given them. They will no longer complain and will be able to lead more meaningful lives together.
