Leaflet: Man does not Stand Alone
Most young people enter life with great ambitions. But again and again they undergo such experiences as remind them of their helplessness. Disease, accidents, losses, and disadvantages-all these repeatedly remind them that their lot in life is one of unfulfilled desires. Then they see that, however great one's material success, one inevitably dies within the span of 100 years, leaving all one's wealth behind. Such bitter reflection shows that all the sweet dreams of childhood and youth stemmed from ignorance. For it is impossible to have complete fulfillment in this present imperfect world.

  Article: Just a Call Away
The Times of India, February 29, 2012
I once went on a condolence visit to two young people, a sister and a brother, whose father had died, leaving them alone in their flat in New Delhi. Naturally, both of these young people were very sad. One of the visitors, who was a family friend, spoke some words of solace. He said: "Don't worry, I am just a call away."

  Video: Stress and Spirituality
The Maulana explains that man-made bounties are limited, yet man searches fulfilment of his aspirations through man-made things; he should instead seek fulfilment in God-made bounties, as these are unlimited.

  Audio: Fragments of CPS Mind
The goal of Islam is to induce man to give up his ungodly ways, so that he may lead a totally God-oriented life. One as yet untouched by Islam directs his attention towards things and beings other than God. That is, he is concerned with creation rather than the Creator. Islam shows him how to focus his thoughts and feelings on God alone. When man adopts a path directed to a certain destination, he considers it necessary to keep to that path without turning to the left or the right. For if he makes constant detours, he will fail to reach his destination. The same is the case with man's journey towards his Maker.

Q. The government has proposed up to 100 per cent FDI in retail markets in India. However, several state governments are opposed to this. What is your view on this? Application of FDI in Indian markets is but natural. It is a price that India is bound to pay. After over 60 years of freedom, India failed to produce standard commodities. You cannot compel the peopl le to live with sub-standard commodities forever. Now, we have only two options -- either tolerate unlawful smuggling of foreign goods or lawfully allow foreign goods inside the country. There is, practically, no third option. To put a hold on FDI, we have to produce goods of high standard, which will prove to be a natural check; no legal provision can check this process.
