Man is born with unlimited potential, yet in the present world he finds only a very limited use for it. According to his nature, man wants to live eternally, but very soon, without his leave, death arrives and puts an end to his life. He harbours an ocean of desires in his heart, but these desires are never fulfilled. He houses a life of dreams in his mind, but these dreams are never realized. In this case, there is no difference between a poor man and a rich man. Why are man and the present world so mismatched?

Article: Needed, a Mixture of Opposites by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan
The Sunday Guardian, May 15, 2011
A true believer has one very special quality: he is able to develop a personality that is a blend of opposites. This quality in a believer is outlined in the Quran in the chapter entitled Al-Fath (Victory). The relevant verse is as follows: "Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Those who are with him are firm and unyielding towards those who deny the truth, but compassionate towards one another." (48:29)

Article: Peace Within Radiates Tranquility Without by Saniyasnain Khan, Member CPS International
The Times of India, March 25, 2008
Traditional Sufi practice or heartfelt spirituality is based on muraqaba, zikr-meditation and remembrance of God. Sometimes it is also combined with music and song. This results in peace of mind which transforms into a kind of ecstasy as it progresses. Sufis believe that through activating certain points in the heart, its hidden treasure is unfolded, bringing enlightenment, peace and closeness to God.

  Video: Islamic way of thinking
In his talk, the Maulana explains that to qualify for paradise in the hearafter, man must discover the present world as an introduction to paradise. The present world has all those things which paradise will possess, the only difference being that while paradise will be without sorrow (hazan), the present world is not. This means that man will first have to discover this world as paradise-with-sorrow. Only then, will he get entry into paradise-without-sorrow. This discovery is the gist of faith, religion and Islamic way of thinking.

  Audio: God the Only Choice
Belief in God seems to many to be a very strange thing. But disbelief is even stranger. Sometimes it is argued that belief must rest on proof. But, from the purely scientific standpoint, nothing in this world can be proved or disproved. So far as believing in anything is concerned, the option is not between the proved and the unproved, but between the workable and the non-workable.

  Maulana Wahiduddin Khan's Blog
Man's Test: Everything that exists in this world - be it a vast ocean or a tiny leaf, a dark particle or a radiant sun - is wonderful beyond words. But, from the time of his birth into the world, man sees these things, day in and day out. From continuous exposure, they cease to arouse any astonishment. But these very things, which man looks on without wonderment, would cause him unbounded amazement if he was to see them suddenly, for the first time. This is man's test in the world - to see a tree and look on it as the first tree: to see the sun shining, and look at it as if he is seeing it for the first time; to hear a bird as if it was the first bird that ever raised its voice in song.

Booklet: How to Establish Peace in the Holy Land
The Arab-Israel controversy, which started in 1948, led directly to the total disturbance of peace in the Middle East and indirectly to disturbances all over the world. This 60-year old bloody struggle, far from solving any problems, has created grave, unsolvable problems. Now the time has finally arrived for a reassessment of the whole issue in a purely realistic manner, and for a search for a new strategy which could ensure peace in the region.

  FAQs
Q. Why is sincerity rare?
A. That is because people are not ready to pay the price for sincerity. The price for sincerity is saving oneself from unnecessary distractions. Sincerity is the result of a developed mind. Save yourself from avoidable distractions and you will be able to develop sincerity.
